Course Overview

The BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management exposes leaders and managers to a wide range of innovative practices in modern organisations. Apply insights across a broad spectrum of enterprise and industry. 

Students develop the initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Entry requirements

International students entering this course at Collins Academy must meet the following entry requirements:

 

Age requirements

Students must be a minimum age of 18 years or above at the time of course commencement.

 

Academic Requirements

To enter this qualification, applicants should have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or an international secondary school year which is equivalent to Australian Year 12) with satisfactory results.

Additionally, applicants should have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).

Or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

 

English Language Requirements

Applicants must provide evidence of completion of the International English Language Testing system (IELTS Test), either Academic (A) or General (G) band 6 overall, or its equivalent completed within 2 years from the application date.
Or:

  • The completion of IELTS Academic or General band 5.5 and 10 weeks of ELICOS
  • The completion of IELTS Academic or General band 5.0 and 20 weeks of ELICOS

 

International students who can prove one of the following criteria are not required to demonstrate their English entry requirements as listed above:

  • A minimum five (5) years of study in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Britain, America, South Africa or Ireland.
  • Being a citizen of, and a passport issued by the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland.
  • Completed in Australia (within the past 2 years) in English a substantial component (at least 70%) of a qualification at AQF level 4 or higher.
  • Successfully completed in Australia (within the past 2 years) the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education in English.
  • Completed an ELICOS program from a CRICOS institution and achieved an upper intermediate English level or equivalent within 2 years from the application date or its equivalent.

 Pre-training review

All international learners will undertake a pre-training review to determine suitability for the course and student needs. The aim of the review is to identify their training needs through questions on previous education or training, relevance of the course to applicant, relevant experience and interview conducted by Collins Academy enrolment officer. Interview will also aim to identify any support needs and possible RPL opportunities.

Through pre-training review learner will demonstrate that they have necessary skills to successfully complete the course.

 

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment

All students will be required to complete an LLN assessment prior to the commencement of the course. – it is a diagnostic process to identify if a prospective student requires LLN support during study.

 

Hardware/Software requirements

Collins Academy will provide access to computers/laptops during classroom hours, however for students to work on assessments, tasks, and self-study, all learners are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software applications, like Microsoft Word at their own cost. 

Note: some assessment tasks are completed using a computer and internet, and it is essential for the student to possess basic computer skills.

 

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Furthermore, students will be required to provide Collins Academy with their Unique Student Identifier (USI) number when they enrol. USI is a 10-character code made up of numbers and letters issued by the Australian Government to uniquely identify students who have undertaken or are training in Australia. USI keeps student’s nationally recognised training records from all providers including completed training units and qualifications in one place, ensuring that the records are not lost.
